THE CANDIDATE ROBUST DETAILS PROCESS
We recommend that all Applicants discuss their proposals with Robust Details Limited before starting.
If the proposal is not for a complete new wall or floor, we can advise on the specific application requirements.

Applicants need to submit:
- 8 tests conducted on representative constructions in real developments
- Drawings and full specifications of the Candidate Robust Detail
If the Stage A is completed successfully, the Applicant will need to submit the remaining number of tests, along with the supporting documentation, for assessment at the Robust Details Standards Committee.
If the Stage B is completed successfully, the new Robust Detail will be published in the Handbook, to be available for registration by developers.
Code for Sustainable Homes credits are allocated (as appropriate), and the Detail is also submitted to BRE for inclusion in the Green Guide.
